  1. I believe that SHBC have outsourced parking enforcement to Woking Borough Council. Penalty notices are certainly issued by WBC. I would be interested to know the logic behind that but it is undoubtedly confusing.

    • I don’t have the details, but I believe the outsourcing to Woking was a cost-saving move. Maybe the whole council will be outsourced to Woking before too long. Now there’s a thought!

    • Yet again, the borough council’s communication leaves a lot to be desired. (As I’ve just replied to Stuart, all on-road parking enforcement – not the police stuff, but the rest – is now handled by Woking council on behalf of Surrey Heath. It’s been the case for perhaps a couple of years.)

In all fairness to SHBC as a resident with a permit they wrote to us last week saying that due to the fact parking restrictions haven’t been in place for the last 100 days they are extending the length of permits for that time. But I don’t believe they ever informed us to say they weren’t being enforced.
