Now that there’s no parking in most of the High Street, we thought that the spaces in the A30 would be at a premium, with queuing to get into them. But no. This was the situation one afternoon earlier this week. Quite a surprise.

Maybe drivers have yet to learn how to get there now the High Street is closed. Are we all enjoying the peaceful sounds of footsteps and pneumatic drills?
Of course, the original notice in St George’s Road – the approach to the northern part of the High Street – unhelpfully simply said ‘High Street Closed’ plus a date. No-one seemed to care (other than the Eye, of course)
Perhaps people are not queueing up to go shopping in Camberley any more, why would they, there are hardly any shops to visit now?
To be fair, there aren’t many empty shops in The Square. Whether they’re paying the ‘full’ rent is another matter.
Probably it’s the 1 hour free parking in the Knoll Road Car Park that’s doing it!
Free – as long as you ignore the cost of getting a scraped bumper repaired….
There will be even less shops in the High Street when the job is finished.
That must be a real possibility.
You would have thought instead of people walking around with high visibility jackets on a lucrative contract they would be working at least 6 days a week
There wasn’t a spare space in sight at 7pm last night though!
That’s even though there’s parking in the service areas after 6:00pm. At least, I assume that’s still the case – I can’t see why not.
Yup – that’s where we ended up! 😊
Now that the canopies have been removed from Princess Way, it is possible to walk from the high street to the shopping centre in the rain without staying dry. Well done the council – mindful of the residents as always!
Were we consulted?? Not, as far as I remember, on whether we’d like a roof…
