Some shopping (and eating) news

Off the Grid – the new artisan shop in Grace Reynolds Walk is now open.

The new kitchen and bedroom showroom at the top of the High Street now has a name above its premises, though it doesn’t seem to be open yet.

Memco in The Square seems to have plenty of stock inside, so presumably it’ll be opening soon.

That’s three items of good news.  But, finally, and rather surprisingly, Paula alerted us earlier this week to the fact that Prezzo will be closed for much of December.  So we tried to book a table on-line, and, true-enough, the website says ‘Not Available’ for most dates in December.  To double-check, we popped into Prezzo yesterday, and spoke to a member of staff.  We didn’t find out WHY the closure (though Prezzo announced last Spring that it was closing about a third of its restaurants), but it does seem that it’s happening.

  1. There was some sort of reception going on in Memco earlier today. Men in suits nibbling canapés, that sort of thing, so it’s probably open now.
