A cover-up job on the A30

A few weeks ago we took the first of these two photos on the A30 slip road.  It shows the base of the enormous plywood hoarding on which the council’s expensive ‘artwork’ is mounted.  You can see that the plywood was deteriorating in the wet – and there were quite a few other places where this was starting to happen.

(The empty can of Jack Daniel’s ‘Tennessee Honey’ wasn’t ours!  But it does give a sense of scale!)

The second of our photos is more recent.  You can see that the damage has been covered with rigid white plastic sheets.  It’s quite an improvement, and probably the only way of ‘solving’ the problem too.
