Be prepared for a little congestion in Pembroke Broadway

Almost certainly the partial closure is because of the redevelopment of Ashwood House a bit further down road.  Even though the sign seems to suggest it’ll be a one day affair, we’re pretty sure that there’ll be a longer period of ‘partial closure’ before long.

  1. I saw you taking this photo outside my office and meant to come out to tell you that we were given a memo by the man who’d left that sign there. The works will span a 17 WEEK period. Let that sink in…

    • Many thanks, Jamie. As you probably gathered from my short article, I rather expected that the restriction would operate for more than a day. From memory, I think it’s because the front of Ashwood House will be turned into a ‘building site’ while the conversion work is underway. This means that the bus stops will have to be moved westwards, and one lane of the eastbound carriage way closed. This – I guess – means that eastbound traffic, whether heading for the High Street, Portesbery Road or Heathcote Road will have to form a single queue. Time will tell….
