From time to time you see land surveying going on in the town. It can be frustrating, because those doing the work rarely seem to know WHY they’ve been contracted to do it. In fact, we’ve given up asking them. As was the case yesterday, when surveying was under way at the top of the High Street. Rather surprisingly, one measurement was being taken from outside the British Heart Foundation shop, all the way across the road, and through the ‘alley way’ to the car park behind Martin’s, the estate agent. You have to look at one of these photos closely, but you can just about see the tripod in the car park.
The question is ‘Why was the survey work being carried out?’. Will we ever know?
