A backwards achievement?

This damaged road sign in Camberley’s High Street intrigues us slightly.  Whoever/whatever hit it was travelling towards the level crossing, even though the street is one way in the opposite direction.  That took some doing!

(You can tell that the photo was taken during the wet weather of a week ago.  The rain has gone, but the damaged sign remains.)

  1. Probably an HGV coming from the service area trying to turn onto High Street had to reverse as people parked on double yellow lines outside opticians!

  2. As on many occasions the Council spend money on trying to improve the experience flower planters all outside the walkway by BHS it’s a pity it’s always in the detail light bulbs above not working

    • You’re right, of course, that simple things ‘escape’ the council’s attention. In this case, though, the flowers are provided by Collectively Camberley, so mainly funded by local businesses. I’m never sure about the lighting outside BHS and similar. Street lighting in general is the county council’s responsibility, of course. But maybe the lights over some shop frontages are the responsibility of the occupants/landlord. I just don’t know.
