It’s best to ignore the council’s notices. But a little praise too.

We look at this car park exit notice with a mixture of amusement and disbelief.  What it says is that you wait for the barrier to rise, then you wait for it to fall.  But when are you supposed to leave?

OK, we’re being petty-minded.  But what’s the point of a notice that can’t be taken literally?

However, for once we’ve something positive to say about Main Square car park.  The other day we watched while an elderly lady came to a lengthy halt at the exit barrier.  We guess that she’d failed to pay before trying to leave.  She pressed the ‘help’ button, and a member of the car park staff RAN to sort out the problem with her. That’s good service!

  1. With the number of signs going up in the borough I wonder if someone on the council has shares in the sign making firm!
I thought there was a policy to de-clutter our streets.
