‘Little Local Deli’ – farewell. Welcome to ‘For Goodness Cake’

A familiar place, a new business – but still somewhere to put on weight.  Enjoy!

Above – the new name.  Below – the departed business

  1. Very sad, but but the sadness was inevitable. We were all very excited that a deli was opening in the town, and indeed delighted that it quickly won an award. But from the start we realised it didn’t really know what it was. Presumably frightened of short self life, it was never really a deli, stocking virtually nothing fresh. On entering, it was neither a deli nor a cafe. And to make their struggle even harder, it was in completely the wrong place, surrounded by pubs, bookies and taxi drivers – none of whom would have been interested in special cheese, olives etc.! By deciding to become a cafe with what looked yesterday like a continuing accent on families with young children, the new owners stand a chance. But Little Local Deli failed before it started….it didn’t do its research. Compare and contrast with The Fish Shop at the far end of Frimley Road shopping.
