Risk of injury averted.

We’ve moaned lately about a heavy fire door in Camberley’s Main Square car park.  Bearing a misleading sign on the back, and coming off its hinges, it was more of a hazard than a safety measure.

Happily, both problems have now been rectified – at least, partially rectified.

There’s now an additional blue notice on the door advising people to stay clear.  We’re not sure it wouldn’t be better to remove the green notice as well, but it’s a start.  Also, the screws holding the top hinge have been tightened.  It’s really a design fault – the heavy door can be forced back against the brick wall near to the hinge, and something has to give – so the problem is likely to recur.  But, for now, it’s an improvement.  Thanks, borough council.
