Solihull has a traffic-free High Street. Why not Camberley too?

Maybe we could also have some ‘character’ lamp-posts.

(It’s at least fifteen years since the borough council said that it was going to improve the pedestrian environment in the High Street.  Isn’t it time the council actually did something on the ground?)

    • Years ago I spent a Saturday afternoon surveying pedestrians in the High Street. By far the majority said they’d prefer it to be traffic free. And – reassuring to retailers – quite a few said they’d visit more often if the road was pedestrianised.
